Welcome to the Hexham Young Scribblers blog site! Here you’ll find previews, reviews and interviews related to events and writers appearing at the Hexham book Festival 2012. Please feel free to read, enjoy, comment and be inspired!

All the contributors to this site are members of the Hexham Young Writers’ Group which meets fornightly on Saturday mornings at the Queen’s Hall in Hexham. It’s free and open to anyone between the ages of 11 and 19 and you’re more than welcome to join us if your interesting in having a go at writing in any form.

If you’re a reader be sure to check out Cuckoo Quarterly, a literary magazine set up by and for young writers. We’re mighty proud of the work on there which comes from young writers all over the world. Members of our group help to run the magazine along with members of the three other North-East young writers’ groups established by New Writing North in Newcastle, Durham and South Shields.

If you’d like to come along to any of the young writers’ groups please contact laura@newwritingnorth.com for further details.

Lastly we’d like to say a big thank you to our friends and funders at New Writing North and the Clore Duffield Foundation. None of this would be possible without your support.
